Blog Trolls Are Sick

You all know that old saying about "you can't please all of the people all of the time…"?

Well, for the first time ever, I had a nasty experience with a "troll" - someone whose manners and class are sorely lacking.

Someone left a nasty spam comment on one of our posts today, and didn't have the balls to leave their proper name and email address.

You can always spot a coward and a spineless wimp from 500 ft away - they don't have the courage to stand up in public on their opinions. Instead, they hide behind a faceless post on a blog, with no genuine method of identifying themselves.

So…a nasty comment is a temporary blip on the radar, but be aware that when you put yourself out there in public, such as on a blog, you WILL attract the odd crazy sicko who really doesn't care who you are or whether they hurt you… they just get off on the exposure and controversy they created. Be forewarned and prepared - it will probably happen to you as well.

Just take the hit, delete their comment, have a drink & chill for 5, and move on. It's not worth losing sleep over their total lack of manners. In fact, if you feel sorry for them it will piss them off WAY more than forgiving them! LOL

So, how about you? Have you ever been the subject of a blog troll? What happened and how did you handle it. Please use the comments section below to tell us about your experience. Oh, and now ALL comments have to be approved by myself or Clayton (as the moderators), so there'll be no more troll gunk on our blog! :-)

I came through the forums where trolling was part of everyday life - there only out to provoke, that is the main aim of a troll - they have since graduated their wares onto blogs now but you have the ultimate power over the troll as you have already stated - you have the power of deletion.
